Your Wedding Day :: The Letter

Every wedding day is filled with all these wonderful little moments that are strung together to form one of the best days of your life. They are filled with laughter, light, and emotion. Of all these moments, there are those that stand out. That shine a little brighter. One of the wedding day traditions that I adore, are the letters shared between the Bride and Groom on the morning of their big day. I don’t get to read those heartfelt notes, but I don’t need to. The emotion, the reaction, it says it all. I get so emotionally invested, I really do. You find yourself wanting to cry along with them, or to join in the laughter and excitement, and often I do.

The role of a wedding photographer is so much more than just taking pictures. Anyone can take a photo. You really need to go beyond that, and see deeper. What I love about documenting weddings is that I get to be a part of making that day last in their memories. When I look at these two images, I can clearly remember that moment along with all the emotions that came with it. If I can give that to my couples, then I have accomplished what I set out to do. Jersey Shore Wedding Photographer

Slice of Life :: Road Trip

This collection of images is part of my Slice of Life series. I wanted to share a personal set of photos, since the whole inspiration behind Slice of Life, was to begin offering the style of photography that I do in my everyday life to my clients.

A few weeks ago we took a family road trip to upstate NY to visit family. We have done this trip many, many times. This time I wanted to share just the photos from the “on the road” portion of the adventure. We drove half way there in the evening, stayed in a hotel over night, then finished the rest of the trek. All in all, it takes us about 8 hours of driving. One of the highlights of the road trip is getting to stay in a hotel. The kids love it! It’s more than just a hotel room to them. It’s a place where they get to jump up on the bed and get to stay up later than usual. That is one of the amazing things about travel with kids, the simplest things are awesome to them.

I hope you enjoy this little peek into our typical family road trip. If you missed my first Slice of Life blog post, you can check it out here : Beder Family Fun.

Have an idea about an outing that would be great to document in this photographic style? Let me know. I’d love to hear from you!

Isabella :: Princeton Children’s Portrait Photographer

We lucked out for Isabella’s portrait session in Princeton. After consistently cold weather this March, we had a gloriously warm day. The sun came out, the snow had melted, and it was just a great day to walk around Princeton. Isabella is the daughter of one of my friends, and a fellow photographer, Gabriela Fuentes of The Wedding Central. So not only did I have the opportunity to take photographs of this adorably cute girl, but I was also able to visit with friends. It made for a really lovely afternoon. We explored the campus, walked around the town and made sure to fit in some time for delicious ice cream at Halo pub!

That little taste of Spring has me very excited for all the outdoor shoots I have coming up. I look forward to filling this blog with warm sunny images  and colorful floral backdrops that represent all that spring has to offer us. It’s just around the corner, and I can’t wait!

Hope this post brought a little warmth into your chilly day. Have a great Monday!

Friday Favorite :: The Belly Bump

Mama-to-be shots are so much fun, especially when there is an older sibling involved. You get to hear all their crazy stories about what they hope their little brother/sister will be like, or the amazingly creative names they have com up with. One older sibling insisted the new baby should be named “Snake” 🙂

Watching the kids react to kicks and movements of the baby to be in their Mamas belly is priceless. Capturing it in photos is a real treat. It gives me the warm fuzzies.

Hope you have a great Friday!

Emma :: A Winter Princess {Styled Session}

2013 is all about pushing the boundaries, leaving my comfort zone, and trying my hand at new things. It is awesome, and scary, all at once. I had conceptualized this shoot a while back, but had never been ready to execute it.

I am excited to share with you my foray into Styled Sessions. This particular shoot had to be postponed/rescheduled numerous times due to our crazy winter weather. While that aspect of it was unfortunate, it just gave me more time to get all of the details prepared. The look I wanted was a “Winter Princess”. Emma’s beautiful dress and cape were custom made for the session. I created the gold crown and floral headpiece. I found a stark, barren location for this session, so that Emma could really stand out in her winter white.

We lucked out with the weather this time around, and after lots of planning, it all finally came together. Take a look, and let me know what you think.  I would love to get some feedback from you if you would like to share it. Over the next few months, and through the course of the year you will be seeing more of my Styled Shoot on the blog. I am loving this new addition to the Shutter Starr Photography family and plan to nurture its growth.

Have a lovely day and thank you for joining me on the blog this morning!Princeton Childrens Photographer
