Ryan’s Quest 2013 Valentine Ball :: Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy Fundraiser

For the third year in a row I am honored to be able to be a part of this wonderful fundraiser. I have donated a Portrait Session and a Gallery CD to be auctioned off at the Ryan’s Quest 2013 Valentine Ball. It is an evening of dinner and dancing, all for a good cause. Here is a little more information if you are not familiar with this organization:

  • The mission of Ryan’s Quest is to raise awareness for Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) with the purpose of allocating funds for research that has the greatest potential of finding a treatment or cure for this disease.
  • This disease is the number one lethal genetic disorder of children worldwide. It is a progressive muscle disorder that causes the loss of muscle function and independence. Boys affected by Duchenne, lose the ability to walk between the ages of 8 and 12, require respiratory support by their late teens and survive only into their twenties.
  • Ryan’s Quest is primarily focused on supporting research for near-term, potential therapeutics and better testing platforms (tools) for development of Duchenne compounds. We are also interested in helping support families that are enrolled in clinical trials.
  • You can also read more about Ryan and how this organization came to be by visiting the Ryan’s Quest Website or their Facebook Page.

There is still time to buy tickets, but be sure to do it soon! If you are already  going, show some love and bid on my session (a good cause and a portrait session? Win- win!) or any of the other wonderful items up for auction! And if you can’t make it, you can always donate by following this link.

Thank you for taking the time to read about this important cause. I hope you have a great day!
